Welcome to Learn to Write Haiku—Mastering the Art of Serious Play

Clark Strand introduces this journey through the wonderful world of haiku poetry.

A shared artform

You're going to learn over the course of the next six lessons about the art of haiku: where it comes from, how to write haiku, the history of haiku, how people gather together to write haiku today, how haiku poetry can respond to the challenges of the 21st century, and what the future holds for haiku.

My hope for you in this course is that you're going to learn about the history of haiku, and you're going to learn how haiku functions, but most of all, you're going to learn to write and share haiku together. Provided you do that, haiku can become a lifelong path of following the four seasons together with your friends.
